Reach Unlimited Inc. is dedicated to providing quality support services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
About This Cause
Reach Unlimited provides services to more than 300 citizens with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to enable them to Live, Learn, and Earn as productive members of their communities. Services include 23 group homes located in the northwest quadrant of Harris County that provide residential support 24 hours a day/seven days a week. Additionally, Reach Unlimited supports individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities that live in their own homes or with their families in the community. The educational piece is provided through the Learning Activity Center which serves individuals aged 12-75 in vocational, functional academic, social skills, fine arts, and physical health/wellness classes. The center is open for 11 hours each weekday to support individuals and families in fostering independence and self sufficiency. Supported employment services help more than 50 individuals obtain and maintain competitive employment in the community. Reach Unlimited's Enterprise program helps every client, regardless of their challenges, earn a paycheck as part of the day program through creation of fused art glass pieces, embossed napkins and completion of work contracts for community businesses. As part of the process to help these special citizens Live, Learn, and Earn, Reach Unlimited provides auxiliary services necessary to help these individuals remain healthy and thrive. Those services include nursing, transportation, medication management, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, equine therapy, psychological services, dental services, training on basic home care, food preparation, maintaining a budget, and recreational opportunities.
