Mission Statement
To raise the consciousness of our society about the failure of our governmental agencies to protect victims of child abuse, to provide legal advocacy for abused children and to develop and implement, on a collaborative basis where possible, a full range of solutions that enhance the quality of life for these children.
About This Cause
Justice For Children’s (JFC) mission is to provide direct advocacy for victims of child abuse, training for attorneys, social workers, and the public, and collaborate with organizations to fight injustices that leave children unsafe. Protective parents who feel they have exhausted their efforts with CPS or law enforcement can reach out to JFC to get advocacy and legal assistance for their children experiencing unsafe circumstances. An essential element of JFC is the adequacy of our attorneys and advocates. Our attorneys can assist in filing protective orders, provide legal advice, confer with the client’s attorneys, secure pro bono representation, and assist the client in understanding the legal process. Our advocates act as liaisons between protective parents and individuals involved in their case by interviewing the parent using trauma-informed techniques, requesting documents, researching actions that can be taken, and determining what outcomes are desired. As a result, it is essential to make sure that Justice for Children's attorneys and advocates, as well as attorneys and advocates outside of JFC, are adequately trained to successfully perform their duties.
