Mission Statement
The mission of L.I.F.E. Houston is to meet the nutritional needs of babies in the Southeast Texas area through the provision of emergency infant formula and other sustaining services.
About This Cause
L.I.F.E. Houston serves as a lifeline for new families by providing infant formula for emergencies and information about infant nutrition. There are dozens of food pantries and food banks around the region that supply food to older children, but we are the only agency that provides infant formula and baby food. Our work helps Houston-area families give their babies a chance to flourish. Because the brain grows more in the first two years of life than during any other point in a child’s development, it is vital for infants to get proper nutrition early in life. L.I.F.E. Houston Gives Children a Strong Start for a Healthy Future Infants who receive good nutrition in their first 12 months are more likely to grow into healthy, productive adults. Proper nutrition lays the foundation for brain development, social and emotional growth, and later success at school and in the workplace.
