About This Cause
Kids' Meals mission is to deliver free, healthy meals year-round to the doorsteps of Houston’s hungriest preschool-aged children. Each weekday, we deliver approximately 2,700 healthy meals to Houston’s neediest preschool children. We work to address the hunger and food insecurity that plagues many little ones under the age of five. These children are at home during the day yearning for food their parents cannot always provide, while their older siblings receive food at school. During the summer months, our deliveries increase to approximately 3,700, providing meals for the older children in our clients’ families who would otherwise go without food. Our vision is to eventually end the anguishing cycle of hunger in Houston’s preschool children altogether. We are bridging the gap for those families who have little means of obtaining meals for their young children on a regular basis. We are, incredibly, the ONLY meals-on-wheels program in the Nation for poverty-stricken preschool children.
