Mission Statement
COCI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to create sustainable solutions for vulnerable children. COCI is the only organization in Houston focused on teenage children of incarcerated parents, providing social, emotional and academic support.
About This Cause
Our journey stretches nearly 30 years, from our beginnings rescuing HIV-positive children from Romanian orphanages to our work today helping students break the cycle of intergenerational incarceration. Throughout our history, we have sought out sustainable solutions for the problems trauma can inflect on children. Today we are proud to be able to help the next generation of students who have a parent in prison beat the odds right here in Houston.
