About This Cause
Inspiring a Passion for Learning Across Harris County-- At the Education Foundation of Harris County (EFHC), we believe in the boundless potential of every student. Founded in 1993 in partnership with the Harris County Department of Education and designated a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 1994, EFHC’s mission is to inspire discovery, promote creativity and problem-solving, build confidence, and encourage all learners to envision a future beyond the classroom. EFHC serves more than 25 independent school districts in Harris County, Texas, partnering with businesses and community organizations to close equity gaps in education. Together, we are transforming classrooms, empowering educators, and opening doors for students—especially those from under-resourced communities. EFHC champions initiatives that reflect the belief that every student can succeed when given access, opportunity, and encouragement. Our work extends beyond academics—fostering mentorship, literacy, leadership, and innovation. Your Gift Supports Programs Like: • Campus Grants – Empowering educators to bring innovative, student-centered ideas to life in their classrooms. • Scholarships – Supporting graduating seniors as they pursue vocational training, community college, or university degrees. • Tools for Teachers – Equipping educators with the essential supplies needed to create vibrant, engaging learning environments. • STEM Initiatives – Delivering hands-on, inquiry-based science, technology, engineering, and math programs to help students solve real-world problems. • Literacy Programs – Putting books into the hands of children who may not otherwise have access to a personal library at home. When you support EFHC, you're not just funding a project—you're investing in the future of Harris County's students and educators. You're saying "yes" to equity, innovation, and brighter futures for every learner.
