SAN ANTONIO FERAL CAT COALITION

SAN ANTONIO, Texas, 78269-2308 United States

Mission Statement

The San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition is a volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to humanely reducing the outside cat population in the San Antonio area through Trap-Neuter-Return. We provide free classes on how to trap cats, loan traps to those trained, and subsidize spay/neuter surgeries, making the cost affordable for the public. Young kittens and friendly strays are rescued from the streets and placed for adoption. Advocacy efforts promote community awareness to protect the lives of outdoor cats.

About This Cause

We are a volunteer organization dedicated to reducing the overpopulation of outside cats in the San Antonio area. We do this by rescue and Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). We facilitate TNR by training the public on how to trap cats safely, provide traps on loan for free, and subsidize spay/neuter clinics so the cost to the citizen is $25 per cat, which includes a rabies shot. We operate 8 main programs: Community Outreach, Trap Loans, Subsidy Program, Helpline - which is a 24/7 hotline where messages left are returned within 24hrs with resources and assistance, Adoption Program - that is foster-based, rescuing friendly strays and young kittens from the streets, Cat Crisis Fund - pays vet bills for sick & injured cats that Good Samaritans find, Feral Food Program that supplements large colony feeders, and the Trapper Team - that traps cats for the elderly, disabled, apartment complexes & mobile home communities.
