Mission Statement
Dachshund Lovers of Texas is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit, all volunteer, foster based, no-kill rescue group for dachshunds. We are dedicated to the belief that helping pets helps people, and that any life is too precious to throw away when a bit of love can save it! We are a foster-based, no-kill rescue program located in Dallas, Texas. Once the dogs are in our program, they are safe in their foster homes until they find an appropriate forever home. Dachshund Lovers of Texas also believes that those with special needs and senior citizens (people as well as dogs) benefit from a healthy, loving relationship between the owner and pet. We strive to accommodate a diversity of needs and ages in our pets as well as in those with whom they are placed.
