About This Cause

Testimonials: Tracy Washington - Winston Ashby You've been supporting our communities for over 20 years. Anthone Jackson - Winston Ashby thank you for keeping us off the street and giving us all something to look forward to! Every day we work to transform the lives of youth who suffer from bullying, depression, violent lifestyles, unhealthy relationships, and unstable families. We connect youth with leadership classes, financial literacy and volunteer opportunities that focus on addressing core youth issues that affect them being successful in school, while supporting them to increase self-esteem, confidence, and increased connections to caring adults. Our goal is to create a seamless network of services that address the academic needs, positive social connection to peers and caring adults, concern for personal and physical health, removal of barriers to employment, character development, service to community, and involvement and inclusion with higher education/vocation institutions. Through our data collection recently, we found that youth responded positively to our program based on their need to: • Feel like they have caring adults working with them • Feel like their voice is being heard. • Feel like they are prepared to deal with conflict and challenging situations in their life. • Feel like they are connected to opportunities to help them thrive after high school. Since 2000, we have served over 50,000 youth in order to help support the growth of character development by increasing their developmental assets, through an array of evidenced-based and informed programs that focus on socio-emotional development, inter-cultural health and wellness activities for lifelong healthy living habits, violence and bullying prevention training and service learning projects. We connect youth with leadership classes, financial literacy and volunteer opportunities that focus on addressing core youth issues that affect them being successful in school, while supporting them to increase self-esteem, confidence, and increased connections to caring adults. Our 4 Core Programs: High Impact, Fusion, Health, and Leadership/Mentorship. Our High Impact, Leadership/Mentorship, Fusion and Health programs all have a service component that engages topics of bullying, safety and empowerment, however youth voice is a comprehensive New Program created to address the new cry for help that we hear from students, families, and schools/school district.
