Our Commitment + We partner with Latina entrepreneurs to build cooperative businesses, in any industry, that benefit low-income communities. + We believe that when women have economic stability and ownership over their work, entire communities thrive. + We have an opportunity to change the face of entrepreneurship by supporting immigrant Latinas. + We teach the cooperative business model so that Latina entrepreneurs can pool resources, complement strengths, engage in democratic decision-making, and have a voice and a vote in major business decisions The Impact With your investment we can provide aspiring Latina entrepreneurs with the kind of resources that meet them exactly where they are. Our programs were designed to bridge the culture and resource gap faced by Latina entrepreneurs. We convert the best of what exists in start up businesses and popular education into Latina centered trainings and tools. We provide: Cooperative Incubation *Business planning with support from industry experts *Test product or service in the market *Create legally binding agreements that support shared leadership *Secure financing and launch the business Popular Education & Community Leadership *Work collaboratively, make decisions and build high performing teams *Develop their leadership skills with support from a certified professional coach *Set and Meet financial and professional development goals *Recruit and train new members in all aspects of running a successful cooperative business The Results Since our founding, Prospera has successfully incubated 6 cooperative businesses with nearly 100 worker owners that have provided eco-friendly house cleaning to more than 2,000 customers throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and generate over $3 million in sales each year. In our new program participants are exposed to alternative business models; receive support from industry experts; and gain access to start-up capital. We measure growth in individual and coop assets, as well as improvement in the social-emotional wellbeing of participants and co-op owners. Our performance management system is designed to measure long-term impact while guiding immediate program adjustments and improvements. We will use this learning to benefit other Latino immigrant communities across the country.
