Mission Statement
Open Gate Sangha supports the teachings of Adyashanti by making them available to all who sincerely yearn for peace and freedom. Our ultimate purpose is to serve the awakening of truth. Founded in 1996 in the San Francisco Bay area, Open Gate Sangha today reaches people around the world who are naturally drawn to the sincerity and depth of Adyashanti’s message—and most of all to his emphasis on truth, and not the teacher. Our small staff at Open Gate Sangha and many dedicated volunteers coordinate Adyashanti’s travel plans and events, produce a wide range of publications, maintain this website, and make Adyashanti’s teachings available online. Above all, we remain committed to letting truth be our guide—the truth that looks out from everyone’s eyes, and sees only itself wherever it looks.
About This Cause
Thank you for your interest in donating to Adyashanti and his support organization, Open Gate Sangha, Inc. We are a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. Our mission has always been to make the teachings of Adyashanti available to all those who feel drawn to this expression of Truth. Our intention is to run our organization in a way that sustains our ability to share these teachings widely and to make them accessible to all who are interested. The money that is received by our organization goes directly to our mission, and no one individual profits from the money that we charge for our products and services or from donations that we receive. Your donation will help us to continue our mission of sharing these teachings. We have a strong commitment to providing free and low cost options for our community. Here are just a few of the ways we use your donations and our revenue to support that commitment: -- We dedicate 10% of all retreat and intensive revenue to our Scholarship Fund, making it possible for many individuals to attend events for a reduced fee or for free. -- Our evening events have a low event fee of $10-15 and no one is ever turned away for lack of funds. -- We have developed a Teachings area on our Adyashanti.org website, where anyone can listen to audio clips, view video clips, or read written teachings for free. -- On Adyashanti’s Café Dharma, our media website, we always offer a choice of full-length audio teachings for free download. -- On Café Dharma, we also produce 1 to 2 free Live Radio Broadcasts per month with Adyashanti and his listening audience calling in with questions for him. Along with our commitment to sharing Adyashanti’s teachings widely, we have a commitment to quality as well. Our staff and many volunteers devote a great deal of time and attention to making sure that everything we do reflects the clarity and heart of these teachings. SCHOLARSHIPS Open Gate Sangha offers a limited number of scholarships to events and retreats for those who need financial assistance. Scholarships are awarded based on a number of criteria, including availability of scholarship funds, applicant’s financial need, and prior scholarships awarded to the applicant.
