Mission Statement
Silicon Andhra's mission is to create cultural identity for the next generation youth, mainly living in USA. Silicon Andhra intends to create opportunities for next generation youth to understand their roots and contribute for the betterment of the world. Silicon Andhra made significant impact in the communities in USA and India through different sociocultural activities. Silicon Andhra aims to provide good healthcare in underserved rural areas of India by building SANJIVANI Multi Specialty Hospital in Kuchipudi village.
About This Cause
United States is a land of opportunity for many immigrants from all over the world. There are close 500,000 people settled in USA from the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in India. The immigrants from this area would like having connection to their rich cultural and linguistic heritage. Especially they want their children to connect to their family roots. Language plays a vital role in giving that cultural identity. Telugu language is spoken by about 150 million people across the world. But there was no systematic opportunity to learn Telugu in North America. Also there were limited opportunities or platforms to celebrate the art forms like classical Kuchipudi dance, folk dances, Annamayya Keertanas, Telugu Dramas etc. Many people want to have that cultural and linguistic connection for them as well as their children. But really don't know how to establish that connection in a professional and organized fashion. Silicon Andhra, born on Aug 4, 2001, has been spreading its activities across many states in United States. Silicon Andhra over the years has developed many initiatives. Silicon Andhra ManaBadi ManaBadi provides academic learning program to read, write and speak Telugu language. BalaBadi is a two year program for kids below Six years. There after ManaBadi students have 5 years curriculum to master the Telugu language skills. ManaBadi is accredited by ACS-WASC. Silicon Andhra Music, Performing Arts and Dance Academy (SAMPADA) SAMPADA is a certificate program for students learning Indian Music and Dance. SAMAPADA certification is done by SiliconAndhra in affiliation with Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University (PSTU), a NAAC accredited institution. Gurus/Schools affiliated to SAMPADA can have their students pursue Junior/Senior Certificate Programs in Carnatic Music (Vocal, Veena, Violin, Flute & Mridangam); Hindustani Music (Vocal, Sitar, Violin, Tabla); Bharata Natyam, Kuchipudi and Kathak. Students will receive 16 University Credits for each level. Junior Certificate – 2 Years Senior Certificate – 2 Years Silicon Andhra Sanjivani Hospital Sanjivani Hospital is being constructed in the classical dance heritage village of Kuchipudi, Andhra Pradesh, India. It's a multi specialty hospital with 200 beds. Upon completion it would serve about 500,000 rural population. Silicon Andhra through ManaBad introduced Telugu language learning program across USA. Silicon Andhra through SAMPADA introduced a learning, testing and recognition platform to gain University credits in different Music and Dance areas. Silicon Andhra through Kuchipudi Conventions want to create more visibility for Kuchipudi art form by bringing the world Kuchipudi community to one place. Silicon Andhra wants to propagate the Carnatic classical music by celebrating the Vaggeyakaras works. Silicon Andhra wants work in bringing Telugu Language into the internet age by developing several fonts. By adopting Kuchipudi village, Silicon Andhra wants to make it as Smart and Cultural Heritage Village. Silicon Andhra wants to build Sanjivani, a 200 bed Multi Specialty Hospital in Kuchipudi village.
