Mission Statement

The Foundation works to make Trisomy 18 a preventable and treatable condition while ensuring that all parents have access to compassionate and knowledgeable care that respects the humanity and potential of their child impacted by a Trisomy 18 diagnosis.

About This Cause

The Trisomy 18 Foundation is committed to finding new therapies to treat or prevent the causes of Trisomy 18 as we support families impacted by a Trisomy 18 diagnosis for a much-wanted child. Your support brings hope to families and their children coping with Trisomy 18 by investing in our efforts to fund research, build community and shape dialogue in the medical and research communities. Trisomy 18 is a life-threatening genetic disorder that severely impacts the development of the brain, heart and digestive systems. Approximately 1 in every 3000 children born throughout the world will be affected by Trisomy 18. Many more will lose their lives during late pregnancy and be born stillborn. Only 10% born with Trisomy 18 will see their first birthdays. Our work is focused on improving these outcomes so fewer parents lose their precious newborns to this condition.
