About This Cause

Highland Park Community Development Corporation (HPCDC) is dedicated to serving the metro Louisville community, with a particular focus on the Cane Run/Shagbark area, by addressing the needs of disadvantaged youth, adults, and seniors. Our mission is to provide holistic education and outreach that uplifts individuals and empowers them to thrive. At HPCDC, we believe in taking a comprehensive approach to community development, which is reflected in our five flagship programs: Students with Awesome Grades (SWAG), Highland Park Educational Leadership Program (H.E.L.P.), Lady Eunoia (LE) and All About B.O. Y.s (AAB). - SWAG is tailored for youth in grades 6 through 12 and operates on a monthly basis. This program offers interventions aimed at academic enrichment, career readiness, leadership development, and critical thinking skills. Through workshops, field trips, community service projects, and engagement activities, SWAG nurtures resilience, perseverance, and tenacity among participants while exposing them to various career pathways and educational opportunities. - H.E.L.P. is a year-round initiative designed to support young leaders from kindergarten through 5th grade. This program focuses on homework assistance, academic enrichment activities, and leadership development. Additionally, H.E.L.P. includes a summer leadership camp component that provides enrichment activities, social-emotional learning experiences, field trips, and exposure to diverse career fields. Through these activities, H.E.L.P. aims to instill leadership qualities and academic success in our youth. - Lady Eunoia is a very exciting enrichment program for young ladies ages 5 – 18. This program is geared to empower females, especially African American females in our community to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their personal potential development. - All About B. O. Y. s meets every 2nd and 4th Saturday at noon. This is a mentoring program for young men ages 5 – 18. This program is geared to empower males, especially African American males in our community to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their personal potential development.
