Mission Statement
The Greensboro IRC assists people who are homeless, recently homeless or facing homelessness reconnect with their own lives and with the community at large.
About This Cause
As Guilford County's only low-barrier drop-in center dedicated to issues related to homelessness, we provide fundamental resources as well as co-located services and dynamic housing programs. As a low-barrier organization, guests of our center do not have to present identification or documents to access our services (except for mail services which require a photo ID per Federal Law). Resources available daily include: Restrooms, showers, personal locker storage, phone access and charging stations, mail services; Safe Parking for individuals who are living in their vehicles which allows guests to legally park their vehicles overnight with access to our center and on-site security; emergency winter warming center. Co-located services include: On-site medical and behavioral health clinics, various support groups and self-sufficiency programing hosted by partner organizations. We also offer case management which can perform psycho-social assessments, therapy, crisis intervention, education, and supportive counseling provided through the Congregational Social Work Education Initiative. We also host the county's only street outreach team to serve those with severe mental health or substance use issues to provide support with the ultimate goal of connecting individuals to housing solutions.
