Mission Statement
We strengthen our communities by nurturing safe spaces for boys, men, and masculine-identified folks to practice honest and mindful relationships.
About This Cause
Our story began 15 years ago when single mothers, concerned about their sons’ transition into adolescence, called upon the men in their communities to step up. Those men answered. What started as a grassroots response has grown into a movement focused on transforming masculinity as a pathway to emotional well-being, violence prevention, and mental health equity. At Boys to Men Tucson, we create safe, community-rooted spaces where boys and masculine-identified youth can explore who they are, without judgment or pressure to conform to harmful stereotypes. Through group-based mentoring, restorative talking circles, and place-based third spaces, we offer youth the support, relationships, and tools they need to thrive. Our work challenges narrow definitions of masculinity that often fuel disconnection, aggression, and emotional suppression. In their place, we nurture self-awareness, compassion, vulnerability, and healthy relationships. Our mentors, many of whom have lived experience, show up as trusted adults, helping youth process trauma and build resilience in environments where they feel seen and supported. This isn’t just mentorship, it’s community healing. Boys to Men Tucson serves youth most impacted by systemic inequities, social isolation, and intergenerational harm. We work in schools, juvenile detention centers, and neighborhoods where the need for safe, trusted adults is greatest. We envision a future where: Masculinity is no longer defined by dominance or silence, but by emotional integrity and care. Boys and masculine-identified youth have access to consistent, affirming mentorship outside the home. Third spaces exist in every high-need neighborhood, where young people can heal, lead, and belong. Our circles are open to all who identify as masculine. Together, we are reshaping what masculinity can mean, for this generation and the next.
