Mission Statement
As a housing nonprofit organization, we assist low-income homeowners with home rehabilitation projects - focusing on providing a healthy and safe home. Our focus is low-income veterans, seniors and/or disabled individuals. In addition to home rehabilitation, Rebuilding Together also assists community facilities with needed repairs. During a project, local businesses, community members and concerned residents come together from all walks of life to rehabilitate homes in Solano County. This is accomplished with volunteer skilled and unskilled labor, donated materials/services and financial support from within Solano County.
About This Cause
Rebuilding Together Solano County Programs to assist low-income homeowners (veterans, veteran widows, seniors and/or disabled) in Solano County, CA: 1. Health and Safety Rehab / Repairs 2. Installation of Smoke/CO Alarms with local Fire Dept. and Travis AFB at low-income mobile home parks 3. Community Facility / Nonprofit workdays at low-income schools or nonprofit organizations assisting the community. 4. Food Pantry - distribution of more than 15000 lbs / week to low-income seniors, veterans and disabled residents as well as 8 mobile home parks in Solano County (as part of Feeding America via local food bank) 5. Safe at Home Kits - low-income veterans and seniors. Kits include 10 year lithium battery (fire and CO alarms), earthquake tool (to turn off water and gas), safety items (inc. PPE - masks, soaps, gloves, hand sanitizer) and other household safety items (LED lightbulbs, etc).
