Mission Statement
NAMI Davidson is a non-profit organization providing free support, education, advocacy and awareness for individuals with mental health conditions, their families, and the community. We want all of Nashville, no matter who they are, or what their mental health conditions might be, to live a healthy, fulfilling life supported by a community that cares.
About This Cause
NAMI Davidson is an "each one, teach one" organization of persons with the direct lived experience of mental health issues and/or the people that love them. The organization provides free support groups, caregiver education and community outreach throughout the Greater Nashville Area which includes Metro Nashville and the surrounding cities within Davidson County. Collaborative relationships include Vanderbilt Behavioral Health, the Mental Health Cooperative, Centennial Parthenon Pavilion, Skyline Madison Behavioral Health, Centerstone, Metro Action Commission, Metro Social Services, the Mayoral Behavioral Wellness Advisory Health Council, Metro Police and Fire Departments, Greater Nashville Chinese American Association, local universities and several multicultural faith communities. Support comes significantly from the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. Through these relationships public education and collaborative programs, NAMI Davidson strives to promote understanding, reduce stigma, and help everyone have access to the treatments and services that will assist in recovery journeys.
