About This Cause
Inspiration Ministries was founded by Andrew Foster in 2012 while experiencing his own re-entry and recovery. As a man on probation, destined to fail by the systems standards, Foster noticed a complete lack of community resources for re-entry, addiction recovery, housing, employability, transportation, mentoring, or community assimilation. Andrew established Inspiration Ministries to serve as a replicable model for other communities to solve re-entry and recovery issues. Inspiration Ministries now serves as one of the most comprehensive re-entry and recovery programs in Northeast Indiana. In 2019 Inspiration Ministries was nominated one the best programs of the year by the state of Indiana while CEO, Andrew Foster, was awarded Mental Health and Addiction Professional of the Year. Our program focuses on six key areas: spiritual growth, life and addiction recovery, family reconciliation, financial management, employability, and driving restoration. We capture outcomes to determine the readiness of graduates from our program to successfully integrate into the community. In the past three years, we have had 66 graduates with an overall recidivism rate of 9%. Our recidivism rate is 0% in the past 36 months for graduates who have moved into supportive housing that we own or manage. Inspiration now operates nearly 175 restorative beds in Indiana and Florida.
