Mission Statement
Kiwanis mission is to improve the world one community and one child at a time. The Kiwanis family includes clubs and programs for students and adults with disabilities beginning with B.U.G.S./TERRIFIC Kids in Elementary; K-Kids in higher Elementary, Builders Club for MS, Key Club for HS, Circle K for college students and Aktion Club for adults (18+) with disabilities. The Kiwanis Club of Hanson Foundation sponsors a Builders Club, Key Club, and chartered the Hanson Aktion Club in conjunction with New England Village, Pembroke, a residential facility.
About This Cause
Our Foundation sponsors a Builders Club, Key Club, Aktion Club, and BS Troop 68; donates to Dollars for Scholars, Project Eliminate (the world-wide effort of Kiwanis/UNICEF to eradicate Maternal/Neonatal Tetanus), Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute (KPTI) at Tufts Medical Center/Boston Floating Hospital for Children, youth sports programs and health and wellness activities, Hanson Food Pantry, Eagle Scout projects, Hanson Day, Hanson Christmas Fund, Hanson Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, Pembroke Food Pantry, Prom Angels, Whitman-Hanson Education Foundation, and a variety of other programs and requests from individuals and organizations. We provided a renovated message sign for the front of town hall for use by the community to post upcoming events and have assisted a families to prevent foreclosure on homes. Our goal is to become an even more positive impact service organization helping our neighbors, our regional school district, people in our general area, our state, our New England & Bermuda District of Kiwanis, nationally, and even internationally by supporting Kiwanis International Foundation initiatives such as the Eliminate effort.
