About This Cause
Here in Washington, there are 10,665 children in the child welfare system. Every one of these precious kids needs a strong family to protect and nurture them, and give them hope for a bright future. Together we can put a stop to child abuse and ensure that families are whole, children are protected, and the cycle of abuse is broken. Our focus is on addressing each child, teen, and parent’s unique needs One Life at a Time®. With your help, beautiful transformation stories are not only possible, but happening every day. Programs include: Foster Care - Olive Crest recruits, trains and certifies foster families and provide support for the child, foster family and biological family. Mental Health - OC provides specialized counseling and therapy for the abused & neglected children and families in crisis. Safe Families - placement for children whose parents are experiencing a temporary crisis while they address the issues that lead to their instability Family Preservation - OC provides parent education, counseling and case management services to help stabilize and strengthen families. Fostering Together - foster parents have support through the licensing process and are taught skills to be successful. Independent Living Skills (ILS) - prevents homelessness by providing housing assistance and basic training for foster youth.
