Mission Statement

Our Mission is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Catholic Tradition by providing quality education which celebrates our Catholic faith and embraces Native American cultures, primarily the Northern Cheyenne and Crow Tribes, so that Native American Individuals and communities of Southeastern Montana are empowered to attain self-sufficiency.

About This Cause

A private, tuition free Catholic education is provided to Native American students primarily from the Norther Cheyenne and Crow Indian Reservations. St. Labre provides pre-K - 12th grade education on three separate campuses: St Labre Indian School - Ashland, MT (Pre-K -12th), Pretty Eagle Catholic School - St. Xavier, MT (K-8th), St Charles Mission School- Pryor, MT (Pre-K - 8th). Northern Cheyenne & Crow Immersion preschools are offered for language revitalization. Youth & Family Services provide support to Native American families and youth, a group home for Native American children that are truly homeless, at no cost to the family and a low income daycare for working parents. A student dormitory is available for students that live too far daily bussing or who need additional academic support that they cannot get a home. All St. Labre graduates are eligible for post-secondary scholarships to the college, university, trade school or certificate program of their choosing. Other enrolled Native American community members are also eligible through a scholarship application process. St. Labre provides post-secondary support through it's mentorship program, helping students navigate the FAFSA and college application(s) process. St. Labre's Youth & Family Services Department includes Shiloh Youth Group Home for Native American children who have no other safe place to live. It is fully licensed by the State of MT. The department also includes a fully licensed low income daycare for working families, Food Pantry and weekend food programs for families and children with food insecurities. Emergency financial assistance for heating, electric and water, as well as funeral assistance, vouchers for food, gasoline and medical emergency expenses related to travel and lodging. Clothing, shoes and school supplies are also provided to students in need. A thrift store is available on the Ashland campus that carries new or gently used items and Amazon and Walmart returns. Turkeys, hams and other holiday meal ingredients are also provided to elders and low income families.
