Mission Statement
The Willamette Valley Chamber Music Festival is a celebration of the creativity and beauty that abound in Oregon Wine Country. Through our partnerships with winemakers, we bring world class chamber music into unique, intimate spaces where you will experience the beauty and craft of extraordinary wine and music hand in hand. Join us this summer for the Festival’s upcoming season of concerts!
About This Cause
The Willamette Valley Chamber Music Festival is a dynamic new festival of classical music concerts in Oregon wine country. Founded by (Oregonian) violinist Sasha Callahan, (wine loving) cellist Leo Eguchi and (arts and community leader) Eve Callahan with a focus on presenting the world’s greatest masterpieces along side the Willamette Valley’s world class wine; its mission is to celebrate, educate and enrich the lives Oregon and the Willamette Valley communities through the performance and presentation of music. The primary focus of our activities is an annual festival of chamber music concerts in Oregon wineries in August, with supporting events throughout the rest of the year. Performances are public and along side the main festival include additional family, youth and educational outreach activities throughout the year. These outreach programs comprise performances at schools, retirement communities, libraries, community centers and other such venues, with an aim to maximize the benefit to the community. WVCMF was first formed in the fall of 2015, initially operated under a fiscal sponsorship arrangement with Fractured Atlas as a means to start the project. Our first public performance took place in Portland, OR on December 29, 2015 in support of our 2016 summer festival, and we received our own 501(c)3 designation from the IRS on March 31st 2016.
