Mission Statement
LifeLab Kids mission is to discover potential: to help students of all abilities discover and explore their unique, true potential through a blend of evidence-based interventions, therapeutic activities, and innovative technologies. LifeLab Kids vision for the students it serves, is to live an unlimited life. To promote long-term health, happiness, and independence through activity, community, engagement, and passion. LifeLab Kids’ mission and vision are based on its core values of Respect, Inclusion, Innovation, Collaboration, Passion, and Hope. Our goals are simple; to offer enhanced quality care, to increase access to physical and wellness activities, and to leave families better off than they were before.
About This Cause
LifeLab Kids is a non-profit organization within Metro Detroit that seeks to empower youth with special needs, by providing innovative and therapeutic services to help them see past their limitations and lead full lives. A father, frustrated with the standard of care for his autistic son, knew there had to be a better way to support his son’s development and he wanted to be a part of that change. Founder, Jai Reddy, an entrepreneur at heart, made a leap of faith and purchased an old church building in Ferndale. With the infusion of technology throughout the entire center, plus the business and administrative support from Jai’s for-profit business; LifeLab Kids was born. Our model is based on what all of us need - to stay healthy, active, and to be a part of a community. Staying physically and mentally ‘fit’ can be a challenge for everyone, especially for those with special needs. The priority and focus at LifeLab Kids is both physical and mental well-being. Since its inception, LLK’s unique clinical facility affords the unity of three disciplines: Physical, Mental, and Behavioral programs all under one roof. Unlike other centers, LLK’s innovative formula is the integration of interventions in music, counseling art, recreation, fitness, speech, feeding, occupational, boxing, nutrition, vocational, life skills, behavioral, and technology/virtual reality; for a whole child approach.
