Mission Statement
The mission of Connect Community is to ensure that every child and adult in the Sharpstown and Gulfton neighborhoods will lead a healthy, prosperous life in a safe and vibrant neighborhood in which residents choose to live, learn, work, worship and play.
About This Cause
The Gulfton and Sharpstown neighborhoods are known as Houston’s “Ellis Island”, and have welcomed immigrants and refugees since the mid-1970s. Connect Community was formed in 2016 when its founding partners (described below) joined hands to align on a shared mission that “every child and adult in Gulfton/Sharpstown will lead a healthy, prosperous life in a safe and vibrant neighborhood in which residents choose to live, learn, work, worship and play.”
