Mission Statement

Dr. Hadiyah-Nicole Green founded the Ora Lee Smith Cancer Research Foundation in memory of her late aunt, Ora Lee “Auntee” Smith, whose tragic experience with cancer inspired her to develop a cancer treatment without side effects. Ora Lee Smith raised Dr. Green from four years old, serving as her mother & legal guardian. When Auntee announced that she had cancer and would rather die than experience the harsh side effects of chemotherapy & radiation treatments, Dr. Green knew there had to be a better way. The purpose of the Ora Lee Smith Cancer Research Foundation is to support the research that Auntee inspired in hopes that one day no one else will have to opt out of treatment to avoid the side effects of today’s cancer therapies. Our mission to change the way cancer is treated and reduce cancer-patient suffering by providing care that is accessible, affordable, and effective.

About This Cause

The war against cancer, declared in 1971 by President Richard Nixon, is one of the longest wars in human history. Far too many have been casualties of this war, including the more than 8 million cancer victims who die annually worldwide and the countless foot soldiers who love and care for them. Despite great strides towards early detection, prevention, and awareness, there is still a great need for improvements to the current cancer treatments of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. There are major limitations to these traditional therapies. Approximately 95% of cancer drugs are ineffective. The inability to selectively kill harmful cancer cells without damaging healthy cells causes debilitating side effects and the most effective therapies cost $100,000+ per treatment regimen. Dr. Hadiyah-Nicole Green founded the Ora Lee Smith Cancer Research Foundation in honor of her late aunt, Ora Lee Smith. This foundation is on a mission to change the way cancer is treated and reduce cancer-patient suffering by providing care that is accessible, affordable, and effective. Our goal is to bring our new, physics- inspired medical advancement out of the laboratory and into humans while ensuring it remains affordable and accessible for all. To accomplish our goals, the Ora Lee Smith Cancer Research Foundation uses a 501(c) (3) nonprofit business model and tax- deductible donations to raise funds to cover the costs of FDA approval and human clinical trials. OUR ANSWER TO CANCER With more than 10 years of interdisciplinary research experience, Dr. Hadiyah- Nicole Green invented a Laser-Activated NanoTherapy (LANT) to target and destroy cancerous cells while preserving healthy cells. Using lasers and nanotechnology, this patent-pending therapy has been proven to completely eliminate tumors in laboratory mice in just 15 days after a SINGLE 10-MINUTE treatment – without any observable side effects. • ~100% tumor regression in 15 days • A single 10-minute laser treatment • No observable side effects This treatment is designed as a multi-cancer platform therapy and has implications for a variety of solid tumor types, including breast, prostate, skin, colorectal, brain, and a variety of inoperable, chemo-resistant cancers. In as little as 12 months, we are ready to begin human clinical trials and obtain FDA approval, with the support of our team of oncologists. With your financial support, we can realize this dream together and translate these treatments from bench to bedside.
