Mission Statement

Mission Statement: Our mission is to provide low-income families of Platte County an equal and safe opportunity for school readiness by enriching physical, mental and social well-being.

About This Cause

The Platte County Back to School Fair Association provides impactful support for underserved children through a diverse range of services. Established in 1999, BTSF still works in accordance with its original mission:to provide low-income families of Platte County an equal and safe opportunity for school readiness by enriching physical, mental and social well-being. Backed by a supportive network of services and committed volunteers; together we promote access to healthcare, education and basic needs for eligible families. The Platte County Back to School Fair provides 900+ underserved families every August. The school-age children receive head-to-toe physicals, sports physicals, dental and eye screenings. The BTSF collaborates with 40 organizations (ie: Hillcrest, Tri-County Mental Health, Assistance League of KC, Northland Health Care Access, etc.) that provide local resources to the families that attend the BTSF. The impact last the entire school year and beyond for their children.
