Mission Statement

The Kindness Campaign ( TKC™) is on a mission to create societal change across all ages through emotional awareness, empathy, community building, and most importantly, the development of a healthy self-image. We know bullying, loneliness, and isolation exist; instead of allowing these states to go unchecked, we provide positive and accessible tools that promote emotional health awareness.

About This Cause

After suffering the loss of a dear family friend -- a child, age 12 -- to suicide, TKC Founder Andra Liemandt started a conversation with her own children about feelings and emotions. Their process inspired Andra to create a rudimentary “feelings journal;” several Xeroxed copies and graphic design trials later, she took them to her daughter’s classroom. When the principal requested journals for the whole school -- and soon, four more campuses -- a new nonprofit was born. The Kindness Campaign (TKC™) officially launched in 2015. All TKC curriculum and programming is based on four pillars (self image, emotional awareness, empathy, and community), and a core message: I AM ENOUGH. This is the heart and soul of TKC, and informs our approach to emotional health. TKC started in 5 elementary schools in Texas, quickly grew to 80, and is now expanding to schools nationwide.Everyone needs kindness: Together, we are growing this vital resource. It is our vision to help every individual know that they are strong, brave, and enough.
