Mission Statement
Our Mission is to rescue , rehabilitate and adopt out unwanted and neglected guinea pigs, with a focus on education and creating value for the small pets. Through educating the public on proper care and understanding the animal's needs, we feel we can cut down the need for rescue.
About This Cause
Second Chance Cavy Rescue is a registered non-profit guinea pig rescue operating as home foster based .. We provide education before adoption and support after adoption. We provide weekly adoption Meet & Greets at 3 different Petsmarts stores in San Antonio as a Petsmart Charities Adoption Partner. This includes Alamo Ranch, StoneOak and Bandera with future setups at New Braunfels and San Marcos Petsmarts. Other services include:, nail trims /health checks , matchup services for single guinea pigs, Classroom Foster Program and workshops for cavy owners. We are a no-kill organization and 100% of all donations go directly to the care, vetting and expenses for the guinea pigs as our staff are all volunteers, including our Board.
