Mission Statement
Operation Christmas Hope's purpose is to establish and support an annual Christmas season gift distribution program for underprivileged children and their families.
About This Cause
Operation Christmas Hope aims to find families in the local community who cannot provide Christmas gifts on Christmas morning for their families. Our organization provides needed household goods (pans, blankets, bath towels, tools, kitchen supplies), clothes (coats, jackets, sweaters, pajamas, shirts, pants, dresses, socks, shoes) and toys (bikes, scooters, small electronics, toys, books, games) for the entire identified family through donations from members of the Metro Washington, DC community. The organization raises awareness of families in need in our community by providing volunteer opportunities for families to adopt identified families and purchase gifts as well as opportunities to wrap donated gifts. We encourage volunteers to adopt entire families, to donate singular items or to wrap the gifts ahead of delivery. Our volunteers then deliver the gifts dressed as Santa to the families' homes on Christmas Eve to the surprise of the children in the home.
