Mission Statement
Rocky Creek Youth Ranch helps youth ages 6-18 by advocating, empowering, and preparing youth who are at risk and are struggling with behavioral, emotional, or co-occurring diagnoses regardless of (race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, creed, etc.). We provide a safe, structured, trauma-informed/ person-centered therapeutic and educational environment during their rehabilitation process, to provide a roadmap for success in their lives. Rocky Creek Youth Ranch recognizes how prevalent traumatic experiences are in our society and how those experiences impact one’s overall health and well-being. Trauma impacts all of us: our youth, our coworkers, those we serve, and ourselves personally. As a result, we must treat everyone with the care that assumes they may have experienced trauma. With that in mind, Rocky Creek Youth Ranch operates with a trauma informed/ person centered philosophy that embraces the principles of safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, and empowerment, guiding us towards our mission of strengthening youth and their families, while promoting individual well-being.
About This Cause
Rocky Creek Youth Ranch (RCYR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. We are a youth residential facility for all youth ages 6 through 18. We are located in rural St. Francois County, Missouri on 150 acres of beautiful land. Rocky Creek Youth Ranch always has a variety of farm animals for our youth to interact with as well as a large pond for fishing and wading. Our peaceful surroundings and tranquil environment are wonderful places for our children to begin the healing process from their past traumas and connect with nature. Our vision is to ensure monitored guidance for youth during their rehabilitation process by providing trauma informed care and resources through education, individual, group and family counseling. All youth deserve the opportunity to succeed in life, given the chance to have mentors who teach them how to work through their past traumatic events and reach their full potential as young adults, and to dream with their eyes open. Going forward, Rocky Creek Youth Ranch is committed to ongoing efforts to raise awareness about trauma and its affects and implementing trauma-sensitive practices to infuse our facility, polices, and employees with a more trauma-informed culture.
