Mission Statement
Youth With Mission Metro Detroit is a non-profit organization that desires to see young people know God and make Him know in Detroit and worldwide. We do this through 6-month discipleship programs as well as community development in Detroit, after school kids programs, kids camps, and hosting international teams to volunteer in the city. We hope to empower youth to recognize their identity and gifts so they can use them to change the world.
About This Cause
Youth With a Mission, overall, is an international interdenominational Christian missionary organization that seeks to "Know God and Make Him Known." We do this through Mercy Ministry (physically providing food, healthcare, education, and shelter to those in need), evangelism, and discipleship. Here in Detroit we seek to develop our community through kids programs, kids camps, helping in a community garden and sports programs, hosting international teams to volunteer in Detroit, participating in teaching English to refugees, and creating meaningful relationships in our neighborhood. We also will host a 6-month discipleship program where local and international students come to grow in relationship with God, but also realize their gifts and talents to positively influence their communities in all areas of life. After spending the first 3 months of the program in lectures and local outreach, student will be sent internationally to impact communities worldwide. No "staff member" in YWAM is paid, so all donations will go directly into funding our facilities and ministry.
