Mission Statement
Full Spectrum Community Outreach Center is helping to build a world where LGBTQIA+ people thrive as healthy, equal and complete members of society. To promote awareness, education, mental and emotional support, as well as advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual, and our Allies) community within Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana counties.
About This Cause
BCC Full Spectrum Community Outreach Center was created in 2016 when Tim Bortner and Marnie Cram noticed a missing piece in the support of the LGBT community. The Foundation is created with the focus of providing mental health services, support groups, community involvement, and eventually housing for the LGBT community to ensure their health and standing in the surrounding area. It is being formed and molded as you read this paragraph, in coffee shops, in living rooms, and speaking with those who want involved. There is a demand for this support and the community is etching their image into the Community Outreach Center to make it their own. WE will have a community outreach governed by those within the community and host support groups for lesbians, gays, parents, gender variant people, and so on. We will also develop a youth outreach aspect that focuses on youth developing healthy self-images and a safe place to talk. Lastly, Full Spectrum Community Outreach Center will focus on the mental health of the LGBT community by offering a safe, LGBT sensitive service.
