About This Cause
Ekam USA Inc works to provide health care for neonates, infants, children, adolescents, as well as pregnant mothers. Ekam helps to save lives directly by paying for hospitalization, laboratory investigations, medications, surgeries, etc. and by improving awareness in the community through screening camps and educational programs to mothers and children. Ekam USA was established to connect donors in USA with the children in need in India. Ekam's community empowerment model allows for Wholistic health of the entire community with focus on preventive health, livelihood support to people in marginalized communities, especially with loss of lives and jobs during COVID- first and second waves in India Ekam has provided PPE, equipment and supplies during COVID and other times to multiple hospitals across India, provide urgent food relief to migrant workers, daily wage earners, disabled, elderly and pregnant women. Ekam has also provided the health equipment needs like pulse oximeters, gloves, etc. for rural primary health centers. Ekam's strenght's are - strong volunteer base- Ekam USA is completely run by volunteers, with no staff costs - trained staff on the ground - deep reach into rural areas - continued monitoring of the impact
