About This Cause
As the largest one-day professional development conference in the Midwest, the Indiana Conference for Women has a duty to serve you. Incredible speakers, inspired breakouts, inimitable experiences—that's what we do best. This educational and inspirational event plays a major role in the goal that co-founders Deborah Collins Stephens and Billie Dragoo envisioned: building a strong ecosystem that helps women build careers, develop professionally, and experience lives that are rewarding, healthy, and fulfilling. Deborah & Billie believe (and research shows) that environments that foster the growth and development of a diverse workforce create healthier, more resilient communities and stronger economic growth. After ten years of consistent growth for the organization, the Conference has expanded into much more than a single day event. Our goal is to provide resources for professional development any time, anywhere. In 2021, we launched the Unlimited series which includes podcasts featuring successful women in varied fields and webcasts on niche topics of interest to our community. ICFW has expanded to include smaller year-round events to build our community and forge connections across all groups. Finally, the Conference has launched a scholarship program designed to remove financial barriers to completing education at trade schools, universities, colleges, and training programs. With a focus on women in traditionally marginalized communities, we hope to eliminate systemic oppression and help women and families reverse generational poverty by assisting them in completing degress and training programs that set them up for better working conditions and higher paid positions.
