NATIONAL JUVENILE JUSTICE NETWORK

Washington, District of Columbia, 20005 United States

Mission Statement

The National Youth Justice Network (NYJN) envisions community-based, healing-centered justice for youth in our communities. NYJN envisions communities that honor the inherent dignity of all children and respond to trauma, conflict, or risky behavior with care, not criminalization.

About This Cause

The National Youth Justice Network (formerly National Juvenile Justice Network) leads the movement for anti-racist, healing-centered youth justice by providing critical infrastructure for the field. NYJN unites a diverse network of advocates and organizers to shift youth justice away from policing and prisons toward community-based, trauma-informed, and healing-centered responses to youth needs. Our work centers the needs of the most marginalized, and we seek a reimagined future where Black, Brown, Indigenous, LGBTQIA+ youth, and youth with disabilities have the freedom, resources, and opportunities necessary to thrive.
