Mission Statement

Engaging students in real world application of science, technology, engineering and math. Creating an environment in which students actively see the application of what they are learning in the classroom and are excited by it.

About This Cause

Team 5572 Rosbots is a High School FRC robotics team associated with the North East ISD STEM Academy. After our first year’s experience we have concluded that FRC robotics is one of the most formative experiences that our students can participate in and we are determined to continue the program for years to come. Robotics is a key component of our STEM magnet program. We use it extensively as part of our recruiting effort and as a way to differentiate our program from others. Our students come from a unique campus that houses four different schools: Robert E. Lee HS, NEISD STEM Academy, North East School of the Arts, and the International School of America. We currently have team members from three of the schools (Robert E. Lee HS, the International School of Americas, and the NEISD STEM Academy) and have plans to recruit from the North East School of Arts. Our prior experience in BEST Robotics has shown that combining students from schools with such varied outlooks has been extremely beneficial. FRC is a program in which students "compete head to head on a special playing field with robots they have designed, built, and programmed" each year. * Kick-off/Challenge Release: January 5, 2022 * Build Season: 6 weeks from Jan 5 to February 18. They will work from 3:20 to 7:30 pm 5 days a week for the 6 weeks. We have the following divisions: 1) Manufacturing (responsible for the building of the robot as well as pit team during events) 2) Design (responsible for creating CAD drawings of all our robot systems) 3) Programming (responsible for coding our website, and ensuring coded control and communication between components on the robot) 4) Electrical (responsible for planning and laying out the circuitry of the robot, and ensure the physical communication between components) 5) Marketing (responsible for promoting the team to the community, as well as conducting outreach events) FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is an international high school robotics competition that reinforces STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) in real application, beyond classroom basics. Founder, Dean Kamen, has created "the ultimate sport for the mind." He has developed a program in which students flock to STEM competitions, sporting their team colors, prepared to "compete head to head on a special playing field with robots they have designed, built, and programmed." Unique to this program are the concepts of "gracious professionalism" and "co-oper-tition", phrases that made no sense to us until we witnessed our first FRC competition in 2014. These students will be the scientists, programmers and engineers of our future.
