Mission Statement
We provide comprehensive services inside and outside of prison walls that empower adults to lead fulfilling and crime-free lives in their community.
About This Cause
Reentry refers to the process of transitioning from prison back to the community. TRI was founded in late 2016 in response to identified service gaps in Boulder County, specifically in the St. Vrain Valley area. Multifaceted services are required to ensure successful reentry for the returning men and women, and the community at large. In 2023, we began offering therapeutic diversion programming to those involved in the court system through Longmont Probation. Programs: Pre-Release Services: TRI has a transition planning program that has been paused since March 2020 due to Department of Corrections mandates regarding COVID-19. We are currently navigating the return to programming on the inside. Post-Release Services: Through the Welcome Back Center in Longmont, we provide supports depending on the needs of the person reentering - from basic needs: finding their social security number; signing up for medicaid; getting new underwear and hygiene products; to more complex: education enrollment; employment support; and housing assistance. All services are voluntary and aimed to reduce barriers while achieving stability. Therapeutic Services - Wellness Center: TRI is contracted through both the Department of Corrections, and Health First Colorado (medicaid) to provide mental health, behavioral health and substance abuse counseling. We utilize an evidence-based, gender responsive curriculum with trauma informed practices. All services are provided at no cost to our members. In addition to supporting our returning citizens, we work with Longmont Probation to provide diversionary programming to all individuals involved in the criminal justice system.
