Mission Statement
Mission Statement- Micah Mission Inc. is a non-profit organization designed to promote human development and self-sustainability through resources and faith-based principles to individuals and families that are low-income based, underprivileged and at risk.
About This Cause
Micah is an organization that provides a countless amount of services to the indigent, disadvantaged, underprivileged, and destitute communities. Services are as follows: 1. Food Distribution- Micah provides daily food distribution to the general population to those in need, as well as weekly to the general population in hopes in assisting in providing healthy nutritional meals in the home. 2. Micah Mission Mobile – Micah provides a drive-up meal to those individuals in need but cannot make it to the mission center. The mobile delivers the meal to the home of those that suffer from transportation barriers, as well as, reside too far to walk. These services are provided once a week. 3. Emergency Food Pantry – Micah provides food commodities at no cost to clients in need of short-term hunger relief. 4. Showers - Micah provide showers to individual that desires to take a shower. These services are not for particular group, but for any/all individuals that may need these services, to include, those that have lost water services that desire to cleanse themselves. 5. Wash Clothing – Micah provides services for individuals to wash their clothing so that individuals may have a clean change of clothes. This service is free of charge, as well as, the detergent and required items to cleanse clothing. 6. Bus Passes – Micah provides local bus passes through Hopkinsville transit to individuals to assist with the transportation barriers (i.e. doctors’ office, employment agencies, jobs etc.). Micah provides transportation when bus passes are not available to clients. 7. Medical / Medicine – Micah provides payment services to physicians for individuals that may need immediate medical attention and do not have the funds or resources to obtain medical services. Micah also assist in purchasing medicine for individuals that do not have medical insurance to purchase medicine, nor the funds to purchase for themselves. 8. Utilities – Micah provides services to those individuals that may have lost electricity, water, or gas services in the home, or do not possess the means to currently pay for services. 9. Hygiene – Micah provides products to individuals that may have a need to assist with the condition or practices conducive to maintain health and preventing disease through cleanliness of self (i.e. soap, deodorant, sanitary, depends, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.). 10. Elderly Food Program - Micah serves as a clearing house for a federal program that provides USDA food to low-income households of the elderly living within the community. 11. Mass Feeding – Micah provides a breakfast daily to individuals that visit the Micah Mission Center. Also, Micah prepares a hot healthy nutritional meal to individuals that visit Micah and desires to eat lunch. 12. Referral services - Micah provides services to individuals that are in need of other services by referring to other agencies and organizations that will help meet their immediate needs for other services (TANF, Food Stamps, Mental Counseling, Housing, Family preservation etc.)
