Mission Statement
The Davis Robotics Foundation is non-profit corporation organized to support science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) activities for K-12 students in California, with a focus on robotics programs. The Foundation funds the operation of FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) teams, primarily FRC Team 1678 in Davis, CA; the Davis Youth Robotics program; and associated competition, outreach, and education programs that promote STEM education and awareness. In addition, the Foundation is organized to accept funding to be used to support other FRC teams and other robotics programs for students in grades K-12.
About This Cause
The Davis Robotics Foundation is a non-profit corporation organized to raise funds to support science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) activities for K-12 students in California, with a focus on robotics programs. The programs of the Foundation are the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team 1678 Citrus Circuits in Davis, CA for students in grades 9-12, the Davis Youth Robotics program for students in grades 4-8, and elementary school classroom robotics programs. The Foundation supports associated competition, outreach, and education programs that promote STEM education and awareness. The Foundation also provides scholarships for robotics summer camps held by Citrus Circuits and for participation in Davis Youth Robotics programs. In addition, the Foundation is organized to incubate other non-profit endeavors involved with STEM or robotics related programs. The Foundation may act as a fiscal agent for non-profit start-ups by accepting funding on their behalf and distributing the funds to the organization to reimburse expenditures that directly support the mission and activities of the receiving organization. The Davis Robotics Foundation was incorporated in October 2016 and is located in Davis, CA. The organization is funded through donations provided by individuals, corporations, and businesses for the benefit of robotics programs and STEM related activities. The Foundation also accepts grant funding as applied for by other organizations on behalf of the Foundation.
