Mission Statement
BiG Heroes provides continued post-high school learning experiences to young adults with disabilities and will provide the necessary tools to help each member reach their maximum potential in life. At the center, we provide job skills training, health and wellness instruction, and opportunities for hands-on activities that build a sense of belonging while validating each member with dignity and respect.
About This Cause
Believe in God's (BiG) Heroes is a God-centered non-profit organization which seeks to provide continued educational opportunities for moderate to higher functioning young adults with intellectual disabilities post high school. We strive to train and empower our members to produce and market unique handcrafted items to give back to their program and gain incentives. At the center, these young adults also gain from first hand presentations by community professionals that provide their expertise for life skills and health topics for healthy living. We have faith that our community will embrace our program so that we can also build a varied array of programs to best suit each of our HEROES' needs and interests. We plan to begin with small manageable projects and hope to expand to bigger projects as the program grows. BiG Heroes ultimate goal is to enrich the lives of our members with opportunities for continued learning, self-expression through the arts, and important social interactions with their peers, job supervisors, volunteers and the community.The ultimate goal is to create an inclusive community where all can be celebrated! BiG HEROES seeks your support and hopes to hear back from everyone. The program seeks student sponsorship and also operates through private philanthropy. We welcome all donations*.
