Mission Statement
An organization for musicians to help cure disease through awareness, fundraising and sound.
About This Cause
Musicians for Health was created as a 501(c)(3) non profit in 2016 by Joyce Elkus and her grandson, Zac Greenberg, who is a professional musician. Joyce lost both her husband, Dr. Fred Elkus as well as her companion, Dr. Stan Kaplan to cancer. Joyce wanted to give back to Dr. William Barrett of U.C. Health Cancer Center. He had been their doctor and went above and beyond with their care. Musicians for Health will produce and promote live musical performances to support a variety of medical organizations and institutions through a variety of ways. Musicians for Health provides fully funded programs for retirement and nursing facilities by employing professional musicians. In addition, we are working on raising funds to donate virtual reality headsets to cancer patients having infusions. Generally this organization has two fundraising events per year in unique locations (Art galleries, Country Clubs, Music Venues and Hotels).
