Mission Statement
Snoqualmie Valley Shelter Services' mission is to help people reclaim their lives. We provide life-changing services to those experiencing homelessness by working with our communities to provide emergency shelter, social services, and connections to permanent housing. We believe deeply in the power of relationships and work to meet people exactly where they are.
About This Cause
River Street Shelter Program: Provides an immediate crisis response for people experiencing homelessness. An emergency 24/7 shelter, offering 10 permanent beds, a few temporary overflow beds, a full kitchen, 2 ADA bathrooms with one shower, and in-house laundry facilities. Motel Voucher Program: Provides an additional 40 beds in local motels for people experiencing homelessness in our community. Motel Vouchers are prioritized for families and people who are more at risk for severe COVID infections. Master Leasing Program: In partnership with King County Department of Community and Human Services, SVSS is part of a pilot project to lease housing on the open market and then sublease to people experiencing homelessness. Rent is subsidized as needed, on an individual basis. Through this program, we will provide four units of permanent supportive housing in Issaquah & Snoqualmie Valley. Outreach Program: Identifies unsheltered persons through direct street outreach activities and through community referrals from mental health, hospitals, and social service agencies. The Outreach Navigator will identify highly vulnerable homeless persons, administer assessment tools, facilitate placement into emergency shelter, if needed, and offer connections to social services and permanent housing.
