Mission Statement
Our organization is operated 100% by volunteers supporting our seven philanthropies in Ada County, Idaho. Our Thrift Shop is our main source of income followed by grants and donations. Our community give back is 78%. We own all our property which includes our thrift shop and philanthropic center. We have no paid staff!
About This Cause
Operation School Bell is a National program of the 120 Assistance League chapters in the US. We dress 3600+ children in new clothes every year. Teen Retail is an extension of Operation School Bell but held in a local store where the teens can shop with a set amount of money per a voucher. Operation School Supplies provides requested supplies to 96+/- schools each year which we purchase and deliver. Empowering Youth helps students aging out of foster care by providing basic household items and a quilt made by members. Baby Bundles provides a bundle of necessary items to mothers in need working with our local hospitals. Cinderella's Closet allows high school students to rent gowns and tuxedos for a cleaning fee of $15. We have a selection of around 600 gowns and over 100 tuxedos. History of the Bown House, a partnership with Boise School District, our members serve as docents to teach interactive Idaho history to 4th-grade students in a historic home. Project Hearing provides hearing aids to adults and awards college scholarships to hearing impaired students
