Mission Statement
The Center’s mission focuses on participating and contributing to the senior citizen’s activity within the range of Civic, Cultural, Medical, and Nutritional opportunities for the elder and senior members of the community. Our largest commitment is to provide nutritional hot meals through our Meals on Wheels program to homebound senior citizens along with serving senior citizens and other community members who congregate at the Senior Center. For our homebound clients, we work diligently to serve them a hot nutritional meal, a friendly visit from our volunteers, and a well check to make sure they are staying healthy and nutritionally fed. Creating partnerships will lead to a healthier, well-rounded community to serve the elderly community members of Twin Falls one heart at a time. The Center also hosts numerous services including AARP tax aide services, AARP driver safety classes, SHIBA counseling, Volunteer Lawyer consultations, nutritional educational services, exercise classes including “Fit & Fall Proof & Tai Chi”, computer classes, foot clinics, quilting, art classes, card playing, monthly food box delivery, along with other special activities, breakfasts and events during the year.
About This Cause
The Twin Falls Senior Center is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization that has been serving the elderly population in Twin Falls over 42+ years (since incorporation in May 1978). The Center’s broad-based commitment to the long-range health of the community is by providing nutritional meals to keep seniors, happy, healthy, and independent as long as possible while also offering social activities and nutritional education. Our primary focus is on the aging population of Twin Falls: mostly those that are over the age of 60, until the last few years when the requests to help those 50 and over became more frequent. The Center promotes healthy socialization by providing activities that enhance the quality of life and the mental, emotional, and physical health of individual seniors, which assists them with remaining independent in their own homes for as long as possible. The Center's nine-member Board, staff, and volunteers believe in serving the community one heart at a time.
