Mission Statement

IFFCMH was founded by Idaho parents with kids diagnosed with Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED). They came together to pool their experience and form an organization designed to assist parents and kids with navigating systems and advocate for improved mental health services for kids. In 1998 they became the ID affiliate of the National Federation of Families for CMH. Since then IFFCMH has done all it can to fulfil its mission through a range of activities from support and education programs to respite and the parent network. IFFCMH also serves as the SAMHSA Statewide Family Network, the ID Youth MOVE affiliate, and is a founding member of FREDLA. IFFCMH was recognized and received awards from all three of our national organizations in 2017. The awards recognize IFFCMH for innovative programming, collaboration with other groups, and the National Youth MOVE chapter of the year, 2017. The majority of Board and staff members are parents with SED children utilizing their "Lived Experience" to help others.
