Mission Statement

The Alameda County Health Pathway Partnership (ACHPP) is a consortium of pathway programs and organizations that aim to increase the diversity of the healthcare workforce by providing mentorship, academic enrichment, leadership development, and career exposure to disadvantaged and minority youth. Since, 2007, members comprise fifteen different organizations that provide short-term and long-term opportunities to youth in middle school through college and graduate students from underserved communities throughout Alameda County.

About This Cause

Alameda County Health Pathway Partnership (ACHPP) is the coalition leading regional health pathway system development in Alameda County. ACHPP has an evolving and maturing set of programs that support students and young adults from middle school through graduate school and career placement. ACHPP’s member-programs serve a dual purpose by addressing inequities in racial and ethnic health and providing under represented minority youth with a pathway to education and sustainable careers that is currently going unmet. Programs serve over 1,000 students annually, providing mentoring, internships, academic tutoring, networking, college and career counseling, and support services, including resume writing and job placement. Program maintain 100% high school graduate rates and matriculate 100% of students to 2-4/year college/university. Membership benefits to programs include: Evaluation & Research, Funding, Networking, Partnerships, Outreach and Recruitment, and Other Support Services. ACHPP’s vision is to help build a health workforce that reflect the cultural and ethnic diversity of the communities it serves. ACHPP was formed to be a supportive network that provides ethnically diverse youth of Alameda County with academic, social, and professional development to build a successful career in all areas of the health industry. ACHPP continually assesses the needs of the youth it serves and of its member programs. In addition to continuing to increase the scale of its sup-port for Young Men of Color, its current top priorities are strengthening mental health support for participants and increasing paid internship opportunities.
