Mission Statement
We are a team of combined superstars and proud champions for the rhino. The Council of Contributors identifies and supports 12 to 14 impactful projects per year, assisting large, small or grassroots organizations on the ground who are as devoted to saving the rhino as we are. The profound impact is that we make significant contributions to a broad network of leading rhino conservationists on the front line of the rhino poaching crises. We do this because the survival of the species lies in their hands. We support them because very often they do this important work with extremely limited resources. Rhino orphanages, anti-poaching units (rangers / K9's / air surveillance) adult rhino rescue & rehab, and highly skilled rhino-centric veterinarians is where the bulk of our funding is channeled.
About This Cause
In 2007, 13 rhino in South Africa were killed for their horn. By 2016 that number skyrocketed to 1,054 rhino lost to poachers – a staggering increase of 9,300%. Still today, indiscriminate poaching is reducing breeding numbers and we are losing the species at pace, not by the day – but by the hour. The Council of Contributors has one mission: to energetically work to curb the rhino poaching crises in Africa. We will always think big. We will always lean in. And we are not afraid to swing for the bleachers to make tremendous things happen. We believe it is our moral obligation to save the rhino and we strive to accomplish this through our highly collaborative structure and by being a reliable, reactive and respected resource for credible rhino organizations who require urgent and specific support.
