Mission Statement
Starting from one family in 2008, IGNIS Community (Sunyanghana) has become a global organization gathered together for one mission - to share love with North Koreans. Going beyond politics and ideology, IGNIS operates various type of projects that are done with integrity and compliant to the local as well as international law. IGNIS offers special love to children with behavioral and developmental disabilities where we help them achieve dreams and hopes for the future.
About This Cause
Ignis Community is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Ignis plans to aid children and people of North Korea by providing the expertise of developers, doctors, humanitarian aid and other professionals to build sustainable communities. Currently, we are active inside DPRK in the Northern Rajin province area, as well as Pyong-yang. Our organization focuses on three major projects: Building Hope: Pyongyang Spine Rehab Center (PYSRC) was birthed out of a vision o see children with cereal palsy in North Korea realize their full potential as contributing members of their society. Share the Warmth: IGNIS Community’s Shoe Donation project started in 2009 with the purpose of sharing a “warm” gift to the children in North Korea as they face harsh winters with inadequate shoes. Through fundraising, we are able to purchase winter shoes from shoe factories in North Korea (also supporting the locals through this initiative) and distribute the shoes to daycares, orphanages and schools. Plant the Seed: Started in 2008 to help build and support nurseries, kindergartens, and clinics in the Rason region of North Korea. IGNIS Community has provided education and medical facilities as well as launching the “Lunchbox” program with the purpose of supplying lunch daily for the children in these nurseries and kindergartens. Jubilee Project: The Jubilee Project is a humanitarian aid providing extra support for the DPRK children during Covid-19.
