Mission Statement
MISSION Heroic Hearts Project (HHP) exists to help veterans and their loved ones heal from the impacts of military trauma by providing and expanding access to effective, life-saving psychedelic care. Through direct programs, community support, education, research, and policy advocacy, we address the urgent needs of the veteran community while driving long-term change to make this care more widely available. SECONDARY OBJECTIVES Research: Help develop and contribute to the growing base of psychedelic research. Education: Develop research-based products and programs to inform and educate people on the therapeutic potential of psychedelics. Advocacy: Use research, data, and testimonials to counter the stigma associated with psychedelics and to help change the laws limiting access to psychedelics as therapeutics.
About This Cause
VISION We envision a future where every veteran and their family has access to safe, effective options for healing the impacts of trauma. By scaling a trusted, community-based model of psychedelic care, training the practitioners who deliver it, advancing research, and advocating to expand access within systems like the VA, HHP is helping set the standard for psychedelic care for veterans—and redefining how mental health support is delivered to those who’ve served and those who stand beside them. GOALS CONNECT- Facilitate the passage of veterans who are seeking this treatment to reputable psychedelic retreats and support their path towards healing with before and after counseling. INFORM- Increase awareness of the healing potential of psychedelic treatments within the veteran community. DOCUMENT- Scientifically document the effectiveness of the treatments thereby increasing the pressure on the US government to reevaluate its current restrictive drug policies. FIGHT- DO EVERYTHING IN OUR POWER TO FIGHT FOR A VETERAN'S RIGHT TO HAVE EFFECTIVE PSYCHOTHERAPY.
